Guest Interview:

Kevin talks with David Heinemeier Hansson, CTO and co-founder at Basecamp, creator of Ruby on Rails, best-selling author of REWORK and REMOTE and a Le Mans class-winning racing driver!  David is also author of the articles Reconsider and The Day I become a millionaire

Basecamp is a web-based project management tool that was launched in 2004 and has over 100 000 paying customers.  Basecamp received no seed funding and was entirely bootstrapped.  Jeff Bezos - the founder of Amazon - acquired a minority stake in Basecamp in 2006.

David discusses bootstrapping vs raising venture money when starting a business and offers advice to those wanting to build a business by bootstrapping.  He gives his opinion on Donald Trump and the tech industry's approach to working with Trump.  David also shares useful life tips like using negative visualisation to deal with uncertainty around the future.
